The Central station connects to most fetal monitors to provide surveillance monitoring of fetal and maternal vital signs.

The MDP2020-0600 is the heart of a system that provides these capabilities

  • Charting of patient care, labor/delivery and medication administration at the Central, bedside or any Remote Viewer location.
  • Surveillance monitoring for 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 patients.
  • Remote real-time monitoring of the labor progress over the Internet.
  • Audible and visual alert indication.
  • Full Disclosure provides 72 hours of storage for history review for each patient.
  • Archival storage of entire labor case including all fetal and maternal waveform strips, charting and caregiver documentation, plus all login activity.
  • PDF file generation containing the entire labor case, including all fetal and maternal waveform strips, charting and caregiver documentation, plus all login activity for attachment to the patient record.
  • Hardcopy strip printouts showing related charting at 1/2 or 1hr. per page. Print from real-time display or from history review. Print single page or entire case.
  • Status board display for posting patient and staffing information, and any special instructions from the patient.
  • HIPAA compliant.

Full Disclosure

Each patient’s history can be scanned from current time back 72 hours. Movable cursors, bracketing a one minute interval, provide a numeric readout of Fetal Heart Rate "Long Term Variability". FHR, MHR and Uterine contraction parameter values are displayed at the cursor location as it is moved.

Enter notes or other charting activities at the Central Station, or at the Bedside, with the MDP2040-0600RV remote viewer and charting station option. All data entered becomes part of the stored documentation, and appears on the real-time waves and history views of the patient’s labor case, and on all printouts.

Status Board Display

A status board window allows care givers a quick overview of patient and staff information. Patient name, location, assigned caregiver, doctor, fetal GDB status and special instructions are viewable at a glance. The Status Board can also be used to pre-admit the patient such that the admit process pulls in all the admit data entered here.

EMR Friendly

With the Archiving file server option, the patient record is converted to a viewable PDF file for easy attachment to your EMR system. VIDCO can additionally write an interface to the hospital’s or facility’s EMR provider upon request.

The Central, on command, will print pages containing up to one hour of patient data. Prints are formatted to provide separate graphs of Fetal and Contraction waves, or an overlapped graph presentation which doubles the time available per page. The strips are annotated with all notes and charting documentation entered for the time interval for each printed page.

Background Monitoring

The system can monitor 1-8 beds. Independent display formatting allows care givers to view more critical labors, yet monitor all. Patients not displayed are placed at the bottom of the screen as small buttons with bed IDs. Buttons can be clicked on to view labor status for these patients, and under alarm violations, they flash red and sound audible alerts to inform the care givers of the violation.

Color Printer

Creates a hardcopy of Fetal and Maternal data.

Allows the user to enter notes into the Fetal strip. Entry is made either from lists of predefined items or manually entered from the keyboard. Users can edit the existing predefined entry items or add new note entries to the existing lists. The entered notes are displayed on-screen with the Fetal and Maternal tracings and appear on the Hardcopy printouts.

File Archiving

The File Archive unit receives commands and data from the Central to store patient data for long-term archiving, retrieval and viewing. Patient data consists of vitals, annotation (from the central or bedside) and original wave data from the connected fetal monitor. PDF files are available for electronic viewing and inclusion in EMRs. PDF files, generated by the Archiving application, provide a convenient method to view the stored labor case at any point in time. A PDF is automatically produced when a patient is discharged. The PDF file can then be viewed by any ADOBE© Reader program. The file can be sent to doctors or read directly over a network connection. The system’s HD drive provides online storage for all labor cases. All files are available in chronological order. PC utilities provide manipulation of the files.

Remote Access

Remote access over the Internet is available on an Internet browser using an optional web server, or using a VPN router and the VIDCO Remote Viewer: the MDP2040-0600RV. A doctor logs into the chosen server type to gain access to the patient list, then selects up to three patients to view. The MDP2040-0600RV provides Viewing and, additionally, Charting and Order entry based on user privileges.
